It is always a very special day when we can finally present our highlights for h+h cologne 2022! This time we are even more excited, as we will soon be able to welcome many of you back to Cologne! Whether on site or virtually: At our big pre-order fair there is a huge assortment of novelties – including so many new qualities and trendy designs for delivery between May and October 2022. So you can plan exactly and always have the latest novelties in your specialty store!
Today we present the fabrics. You can inform yourself at your leisure, even the promotional image material is already available for you in our image database. On Wednesday, 16.3. we will open our virtual trade fair booth at www.swafing.de/en/virtual/ and present our various trade fair highlights at 19:00 / 7 PM (CET). You will still be able to watch this presentation after the initial broadcast. On Friday, 18.3. the sale in the Swafing online store starts around 9:00 am (CET)! For the first time we have a lookbook for the Kölnmesse – we are so proud of it and very happy to present it to you! You can already browse through it online and get inspired! Breeze by bienvenido colorido
We are looking forward to summer, bright colors, airy summer dresses – and Nelli Simböck delivers the matching fabrics! Her new jersey collection Breeze was inspired by a gentle breeze blowing petals from blossoming fruit trees. The blossoms in the breeze always looked different depending on the mood of the light – in the dawn, in the sunshine, against the evening sky. The expressive fabrics also remind us of windows decorated with stained glass or lanterns, where the light spreads a very special mood. Here you can see the repeat as it stretches across the entire fabric width of about 160 cm.
Breeze is NOT a panel, but a continuous pattern without divisions. You do not have to follow any cutting lines or measurements. The color sequence repeats about every 50 cm. The new knit jersey is available in four colors each on natural white and black.

The design is very expressive through the strong contrasts and the color gradients and looks very noble. The colors shine so beautifully on the black background!
It’s amazing: although it’s really exactly the same design, the fabrics with the natural white background in the same harmonious color gradients look completely different. The bright fabrics seem a bit more cheerful and summery light.

Modern Boho Flair by Cherry Picking
Anke from Cherry Picking loves pattern mix and style breaks and invites with her new collection to play with colors, patterns and fabrics. Casual lounge looks are so hip and no longer just for home! Tracksuits or hoodies and matching sweatpants with individual, modern styles are totally on trend! The four Modal French Terrys are perfect for this and have inspired us right away.
Clear, graphic patterns and simple shapes such as circle, oval, dashes meet a colorful carpet of flowers, simple checks on black on opulent rainbows!
The 2 gigantic patterns with boho elements and rainbows offer great potential to vary the
look, no matter how you put the pattern on, it will always be a different look! If you are unsure, you can paint your pattern piece first on transparent film and move it so on the fabric to find your desired placement!
The large stylized rainbows immediately catch the eye – they consist of three curved lines in very bright, expressive colors that really shine on the black background! One rainbow is about 33 cm high. It’s not a panel, but a continuous all-over design that you can really play with and that can always look different depending on how you arrange it. No matter how you arrange the pattern pieces – you’re guaranteed to get an absolutely expressive statement piece! The design looks great on dresses and larger areas, but feel free to cut smaller pieces from it for interesting effects. Of course, you can also cut out the rainbow and sew it as an appliqué on jackets or hoodies!
The graphic design in terracotta / ocher is decorated with large, very simple graphic shapes. Looks the fabric folded still inconspicuous, unfold with the fabric unimagined possibilities! Magnolia Malou & Blooming Flowers by Christiane Zielinski
Flowers and blossoms are one of nature’s most wonderful creations and Christiane Zielinski loves to be inspired to new flower designs in the great outdoors. For viscose woven Magnolia Malou, the designer only had to step outside her own front door – different magnolia trees grow in her garden, with white and bright magenta flowers.
These noble magnolia blossoms in trendy watercolor look are now available on soft flowing viscose woven fabric. Through the dark contours, the delicate watercolor flowers in trendy colors on the viscose woven fabric with the beautiful fall particularly well! The beautiful, loosely arranged floral design is very modern, not overloaded and therefore unfolds a great effect even on large surfaces such as maxi dresses! You have to love bright red poppies! The leaves are so delicate and fine that you can easily destroy them if you pick or touch them. That can’t happen on Blooming Flower – here the poppies never fade and you can enjoy them every day! There are three designs – the red poppy on a white background, a beautiful design with completely different flowers and blossoms in two powdery delicate, very harmomic color schemes and a design with smaller blossoms.

With the fabrics of the Think-Big collection, designer Kathrin Wessel follows the trend of extremely large patterns, which, depending on their placement on the garment, always create a different exciting look! Big Potato
There are no such big potatoes in real life! You wouldn’t believe it, but the name says it all and this cool pattern was created with good old potato printing! With a halved potato and some color, exciting shapes and textures in irregular stencil look were created, which were then digitized, enlarged and processed into the trendy pattern with the giant ovals. The lightweight viscose woven fabric with the very modern design has a very nice drape – ideal for blouses, dresses, shawls and more!

Little Big
A small dot comes out big here! The colorful, irregular dots in the trendy colors mustard, gray, ocher, pink and terra are super as a combi fabric to the big fabrics but also alone very, very cool! Perfect for hoodies, simple but still an eye-catcher and also suitable for boys and men. Very cute also as a mom / dad child outfit perfectly matched in color!
Magnificent Rainbow
The giant rainbow runs in an endless loop across the entire fabric, so every part of the jersey can be used and there are always great, exciting possibilities.
Here you can see the full fabric width of the Maginficent Rainbow on cream white and gray.
It’s not a panel, but a continuous fabric that can be oriented in all directions! You can play wonderfully with the design and be surprised by the effect, or just try it out using pattern pieces drawn on foil to see where the stripes/sheets should be.
Our sample sewing team came up with such great, very different models, sometimes the rainbow runs across, sometimes sideways, sometimes it is divided, sometimes it stretches its entire arc over a garment.
We also love the cool models for men and kids that show that rainbows really are for everyone!
Great Fog
The cool, somewhat more decent design shows a speckled/pixelated background, where the speckles are sometimes closer, sometimes further together – depending on how you arrange the pattern pieces, the model can look completely different again – just try it out! Again, there is no particular repeat size to consider, it is a continuous allover design that is also absolutely men’s suitable and works well in smaller sizes.

Mega Shapes features huge, curved shapes that are openwork and similar to Great Fog with an interesting texture/pattern.

Sk8 by Lycklig Design
Fearlessly racing down stairs, attempting daring stunts in the halfpipe or practicing new tricks on the ground – skating is so versatile and yet all skaters have one thing in common: the feeling of endless freedom as soon as you stand on the board. Coupled with a good dose of coolness! Now there are the matching fabrics – Berit Winter presents her new French-Terry collection „Sk8“.
The centerpiece of the collection is the skater panel. On the 80 cm high panel is emblazoned on the left side of an approximately 20cm tall cool skater in graffiti style on a dark background sprayed with splashes of color, which extends over the entire width of the fabric. Laterally run on a width of 14 cm colorful stripes, which work wonderfully as cuffs or inserts or which you can also wonderfully appliqué!
Matching the stylish skater panel there are three other designs. The casual allover with skaters, skateboards, spray cans, the Sk8 lettering and more, the cool two-tone fabric with the eroded Sk8 lettering and the checkerboard / check design in used look. The checks are about 4.5 cm high.

Pinguinis by Thorsten Berger
Do you already know the Pinguini family? At every family celebration, all the relatives from near and far waddle up to pose for the annual group photo. And also otherwise the cuddly black and white droll penguinis have a lot of fun and good mood on the really. Get the penguins into your sewing room now! – The wonderful French Terry virtually invites you to conjure up new feel-good favorite pieces from the five different penguin designs for young and old. The color world of the entire fabric series consists mainly of a great denim blue, which with icy blue tones, black and white conjures up really beautiful snow landscapes, in which the little penguins are actively swirling around or playfully staged as large panel motifs.

Penguins as far as the eye can see on the Pinguinis panel with penguin heads. The strip with the penguin family runs along the entire panel and is about 23 cm high.
The panel in knitted optics makes a clear announcement „Do not disturb“ – please do not disturb! The little penguin hides under his cuddly knitted cap. The motif on the left side is very striking with a height of 34 cm – on the right there is another smaller motif with an approx. 16 cm high circle and the cap penguin with the statement „It wasn’t me!“

Structured / textured fabrics are very trendy – whether plain or with great prints – models made of waffled or ribbed fabrics have a very special look! For the Cologne fair we have a variety of wonderful fabrics with waffle, rib or a special texture – including completely new qualities!
Waffle Knit Oslo & Rib Cuff Molde
Waffle Knit Oslo is our „cover star“ of the cologne fair lookbook for a reason. „An absolute dream – so buttery soft!“ „It was love at first sight“ – these were just two of the enthusiastic reactions from our lovely sample sewers. We feel the same way about the two new qualities: Waffle Knit Oslo and the matching ribbed cuff Molde in the great, autumnal color palette are really something special.
Waffle knit Oslo with its 460 g/m² is excellent for autumn and winter. Nevertheless, it is not too thick and can be processed wonderfully. Waffle knit Oslo is wonderfully soft, really nice and cuddly warm and comes in 9 colors, including besides current fashion colors of course also classics like black and dark blue.
Ribbed cuff Molde fits perfectly with Waffle Knit Oslo. We were immediately impressed by the quality, the look and the structure! Molde has a fine, smooth rib and looks very classy and cool. Compared to smooth cuffs, they stand out a bit from the rest of the fabric, but are less rustic than coarse knit cuffs. The elastic cuff always bounces back nicely into its shape and is great for trendy beanies in addition to classic uses!

Summery waffle jersey – plain and printed!
You love our waffle jersey Clarissa all year round – additionally we have a great new quality for the warmer days!
Our new, lighter „summer waffle jersey“ is not too thick and unlike our other waffle jerseys has the waffle structure only on the front side. The nice smooth backside feels very comfortable and prevents the material from creeping up on tights, for example. The waffle jersey with the nice loose drape is perfect for tops – of course also with trendy balloon sleeves, dresses, skirts, summer dresses, light jackets and much more. We love dresses and skirts with pockets – our thinner waffle jersey is so good for that too, nothing wears on or gets too thick. Ideal also if you want to do without additional cuffs – with a border of the same fabric the model looks very classy – the lighter material lays so beautifully does not wear on here either.
The boxes of the waffle fabric are slightly larger than in article Clarissa – once again a new look for more variety in the closet!
The new quality is available as Laura in uni in seven colors and as Lisa with trendy, summery designs. Both look beautiful on their own, but can also be combined well with each other!
Floral designs are just the thing right now! We can’t wait until everything is green and blooming outside. The large anemone flowers bloom in gorgeous colors on waffle jersey in white, mint and dark blue. There is no need for fancy cuts – on a plain shirt or sweater the flower design comes into its own so well. Cool detail: The trendy balloon sleeves!
A special, large-format design shows the magnificent flower balls of the Allium / ornamental lily between leaves and branches on white and a beautiful, bright old mint. Here you can see very well how beautifully the waffle jersey is suitable as a neckline / for cuffs!
We leave the home garden – off to warmer climes! The tropical designs with the large palm leaves are ideal for the vacation wardrobe – or vacation feeling at home! Another quite new favorite quality is ribbed jersey Mia. The ribbed jersey is very fashionable and so versatile: the softly falling jersey is very trendy especially in women’s fashion and perfect for dresses and skirts, tops, airy pants and trendy bodies. The beautiful elastic quality is also wonderfully suitable for body-hugging clothing and gives sufficient freedom of movement. Also ideal as a cuff replacement / neckline, because Mia fits really nice and is not too thick.

The new romanite jersey / Punto di Roma inspires with its great structure on the front and the beautiful smooth back! Punto di Roma or romanit jersey is also known as double jersey. Romanit Linn is cross-stretch and slightly stronger than conventional jersey. The material with the beautiful drape does not wrinkle as easily as some woven fabrics and gives more support than single jersey.

Our boiled wool Naomi is very popular and well known. Now we have another, somewhat lighter boiled wool for you! Article Merino consists – the name suggests – of 100% virgin wool (merino wool). Merino fibers are only half as thick as conventional virgin wool and much softer and finer and especially in direct contact with the skin as in caps or loops even more comfortable to wear.
Merino is coordinated with the colors of article Naomi or Naomi-melange and is a great addition if you are looking for a slightly lighter material for tops, whale overalls, jackets, hats, scarves and more! We’re looking forward to six melange shades and 12 solid colors.

Our beautiful new stretch satin Martha is made of cotton with 3% elastane. This makes it slightly stretchy and ideal for dresses, shorts, skirts, pants, a summery blazer or a blouson for cooler summer evenings. The colors and designs are made for May delivery!
There’s a spring-like, romantic rose design in powdery colors that sews up and combines with mottled Swafing Basics (shown here in color 1434) for a really cool spring or summer look. The beautiful combination stripes in apricot / sand tones go well with this.
Shorts or longer summer pants? Just sew them both! The large-format flower design in bright watercolor look looks great in any length of pants – and also on dresses, skirts, jackets or of course as a cool bag!

New quality: viscose Amalia
A new quality that convinced us right away is viscose woven fabric Amalia. The printed viscose is somewhat firmer and has a great, firm feel. At the same time, however, it is beautifully lightly falling and flowing and cannot be compared with our lighter qualities. The beautiful, grippy material is not transparent, does not need to be lined and is therefore ideal for dresses, but also for blouses or blouse shirts. Lighter viscose can be a bit slippery when sewing – this is completely different with Amalia. Amalia is so easy to sew that both our sample sewing team and our seamstress were thrilled.
Amalia comes in two designs in four colors each. The large scale flowers are printed in olive green, dark green, pink and burgundy with a black background:
Wrap blouse with statement sleeves, blouse shirt with stand-up collar, blouse, dress or blouse shirt – gorgeous models from Amalia in floral design.
There is also the great chevron design, which is dashed / patterned in itself and so remotely reminiscent of a fur drawing. Black chevron pattern on ocher / olive green, pink, burgundy and denim blue.
Here you can see very nice, how well the firmer fabric is suitable for dresses!

Flannel Karolina
Karolina is a beautiful 100% cotton flannel, slightly roughened on one side. The reverse side is nice and smooth and in the same beautiful check pattern – so you can choose which side you want to wear against your skin – smooth or cozy!
The classic plaid pattern comes in dark green/jean blue, dark blue/red, and denim blue/mustard.
The lightweight flannel is not as thick and stiff as the classic lumberjack shirts, but nice and easy draping and comfortable to wear. Beautiful to work with and ideal for shirt dresses, shirt blouses, classic blouses, skirts, men’s shirts, cozy flannel pants, jackets and of course for cozy scarves.

Eucalyptus is very trendy – we have beautiful eucalyptus designs for you on Jersey Nora as well as on French Terry Tomke. On Nora there are the eucalyptus branches in natural white, smoky blue and mint.
So great to combine with each other and with Swafing Basics Eike, Maike, Vanessa and Heike! We love especially our Emerald 266 for this – that fits perfectly with the eucalyptus branches and looks just great!
The beautiful leaf design with the harmoniously coordinated, individual colorful leaves is simply gorgeous! In the three beautiful colors they always look different! The noble ladies design also looks very nice on children’s clothing!

With these cute designs, we knew right away that we wanted to offer you them on our high quality, thinner sweatshirt fabric „Made in Europe“. The lightly brushed sweat is not too thick and therefore ideal for toddlers and babies! Some of the designs are also very usable for bigger ones.

Natural Stamp knit jersey
Dreamlike motifs in stamp look, dreamlike, autumnal bright colors and one of your favorite qualities – if that’s not a great combination! The popular cotton jersey with 10% elastane content is slightly heavier, has a very nice feel and is particularly comfortable to wear! It is suitable for shirts, dresses, skirts, shorts, leggings, bodies, and much more.
The designs are beautifully coordinated and can be combined very well. The animals, trees and nature motifs look as if stamped on, are not completely opaque and thus get the charming stamp- look, which has also led to the name of the collection.

We have such great motifs for big and small Christmas fans – for Christmas outfits, the Christmas party or for pajamas for Christmas morning – sew best one each for you and your whole family or your dearest friends! All make a really good mood and increase the anticipation of Christmas!
