Trendy fabrics: viscose linen & cotton linen
Every season has its own special favourites and qualities that are impossible to ignore – fabrics that impress with their properties and are therefore in high demand. This season, viscose-linen and cotton-linen blends are clearly among them.
Lightweight, comfortable fabrics with a natural look and high-quality feel are among the most sought-after fabrics for spring and summer. They combine airiness with comfort and can look casual or elegant, depending on the design. At the Swafing in-house exhibition, we are presenting a particularly extensive range of cotton and viscose-linen blends – versatile, modern and ideal for airy spring/summer designs. These fabrics are a useful addition to the range and immediately put you in the mood for summer.
At the spring in-house exhibition, we were able to fulfil many frequently expressed wishes in addition to presenting many new items: the popular viscose-linen Landshut and Lissabon and linen-cotton blend Paul are back with an expanded colour chart and offer even more scope for individual designs!
Landshut – viscose-linen blend fabric with an elegant pinstripe look
The Landshut blend (item 082634) combines the best properties of two natural fibres: with 80% viscose and 20% linen, the fabric has a wonderfully smooth, soft surface that feels pleasant against the skin and creates a high-quality, slightly textured look. Thanks to a weight of approx. 210 g/m², Landshut has a perfect drape – not too heavy, but also not too light – ideal for garments with a little more substance. Opaque fabric – a wonderful quality for spring and summer, but also all year round!
A special highlight is the classic, elegant pinstripe design, which gives the fabric a timeless look. The stripes are very fine and subtle, yet very effective – they elongate the figure and look stylish and modern in both everyday and business outfits.
The colour palette comprises eight versatile shades – new additions are Camel 674-011 and Light Grey 182-011 with white stripes, as well as White with black stripes 010-299!

Landshut is ideal for a wide range of garments such as trousers, dresses, skirts, jumpsuits, light jackets or slightly more textured blouses with a linen look. The fabric drapes smoothly, retains its shape and, according to our sample seamstresses, is surprisingly easy to care for: „Hardly prone to creasing“, „Hardly any ironing required“, „Wears wonderfully – I would take it in every colour!“ The great, airy drape and the pleasantly soft, smooth quality are particularly impressive!

All patterns of the in-house exhibition design examples are linked in the image database.
Whether as casual Marlene trousers, an airy summer dress or an elegant blazer – Landshut is a fabric for anyone who values comfort, style and quality. Depending on the pattern, the material can look casual or elegant. Landshut is therefore not only a good choice for leisure and summer clothing, but also for more elegant designs. Of course, it is also ideal for men’s trousers, shirts or jackets and for children’s clothing! In addition to clothing, the new viscose-linen blend fabric can also be used for home decoration: cushion covers, curtains, table runners and more!
Landshut *082634* Viscose/linen blend fabric made from 80% viscose, 20% linen, 140 cm, approx. 210 g/m², certified according to STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®. Available at the Swafing in-house exhibition from 6 February, while stocks last.
Lissabon – mottled and plain viscose linen for lots of sewing ideas
The Lissabon blended fabric (item 082625) combines 70% viscose and 30% linen and impresses with its wonderfully soft surface and high-quality, slightly textured look. With a weight of approx. 210 g/m², the fabric drapes beautifully and is very comfortable to wear – not too heavy, not too light, ideal for numerous sewing projects. A gorgeous, dyed-through fabric.
The Lissabon colour palette is very extensive with 19 colours – we have modern colours and classics. Look forward to five new colours!

Lissabon is ideal for a variety of garments such as trousers, shorts, dresses, skirts, jumpsuits, light jackets or slightly more textured blouses with a linen look. The fabric drapes smoothly, is dimensionally stable and our sample seamstresses are enthusiastic: „Wears wonderfully – I would take it in every colour!“

Wild Stripes von bienvenido colorido
Viscose linen with graphic stripe pattern and distinctive colours
Wild Stripes by Bienvenido Colorido (item 082919) is a high-quality viscose-linen blend fabric made from 70% viscose and 30% linen. The fabric has a beautiful, flowing drape, a pleasantly soft feel and an attractive appearance. The quality is airy, yet dimensionally stable, and is ideal for a wide range of sewing projects – from casual to expressive.
The Wild Stripes design is characterised by an expressive, horizontal stripe pattern that combines different graphic patterns. Leopard and animal motifs meet geometric borders, organic lines, small ornaments and textured surfaces. The individual stripes vary in height, pattern and rhythm, giving the fabric a lively, modern and harmonious look.

The colour variations emphasise the effect of the design in different ways:
Warm terracotta, rust and natural tones meet cream, brown and black to create a calm, earthy look. Other variations play with contrasts of petrol, turquoise, berry, orange or mustard yellow. Two slightly more colourful variants and two slightly more muted fabrics in trendy earth tones (rust tones and beige-petrol) – there’s something for everyone here!

The striped pattern offers exciting possibilities for Wild Stripes in terms of cut design. Models that make deliberate use of the repeat pattern are particularly beautiful:
maxi dresses, wrap dresses, tunics, kaftan-style cuts or shirt dresses benefit from the horizontal stripes. Wide trousers, culottes, jumpsuits or skirts with clean lines also look very modern with this print. Simple blouse and top cuts are suitable for tops, allowing the pattern to speak for itself. If you want to add accents, you can also use Wild Stripes specifically for details such as sleeves, yokes, pockets or tie belts.
The fabric drapes softly, is comfortable against the skin and combines the character of linen with the comfort of viscose. Depending on the cut, Wild Stripes can look casual, creative or expressive and fashionable. Ideal for summer looks, holiday outfits, individual one-offs or statement pieces!
In addition to clothing, the viscose-linen blend fabric can also be used for selected accessories – such as scarves, shawls, bags or light home accents such as cushion covers or table runners, where the stripe pattern can be used to decorative effect.
Wild Stripes by Bienvenido Colorido *082919* Viscose/linen blend fabric made from 70% viscose, 30% linen, 136 cm, approx. 200 g/m², certified according to STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®. Available at the Swafing in-house exhibition from 6 February, while stocks last. Delivery: March
Irma – viscose linen with large floral print
Irma (item 082829) is a lightweight viscose-linen blend fabric. With a weight of around 140 g/m², the fabric is ideal for airy spring and summer designs. The blend combines the pleasant lightness of viscose with a subtle linen character, creating a natural, high-quality look.
Irma’s design is dominated by large, picturesque flowers. The floral motifs are expressive yet softly rendered, giving the fabric an elegant, modern look. There are two different designs and colour schemes to choose from: one in bright, trendy colours and one in calm, earthy tones. Whether colourful or natural, both designs are harmonious, stylish and timelessly beautiful.
Irma is particularly suitable for dresses, skirts, blouses, tunics or airy trousers. The large flowers are particularly effective in flowing cuts and clear silhouettes, making every model a real eye-catcher – perfect for feminine summer looks with elegance.
Irma *082829* viscose-linen blend fabric made from 85% viscose, 15% linen, 150 cm, approx. 140 g/m², certified according to STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®. Available at the Swafing in-house exhibition from 6 February, while stocks last.

Paul linen-cotton blend fabric
Spring is coming, and with the linen-cotton blend Paul, we can’t wait to start sewing for the warmer days! This fantastic new fabric, made from 55% linen and 45% cotton, is ideal for the warm season, but also works well all year round.
Paul is available in three designs and many colours! As a mottled woven fabric with a beautiful chambray look, as a herringbone pattern and mottled with fine white stripes, each in the 13 current colours. The mottled fabrics, fine stripes and herringbone pattern complement each other wonderfully, so that all fabrics can be combined very well with each other!

This woven fabric is so comfortable to wear and looks simply fantastic. It is ideal for blouses, men’s shirts, dresses, skirts, light summer trousers, shorts and much more, and of course also works wonderfully for children’s clothing, summer trousers or shirts. It is wonderfully delicate to work with, and fine details such as collars, belt loops or ruffles are easy to achieve.

All patterns of the in-house exhibition design examples are linked in the image database.
But that’s not all – this super versatile fabric is also suitable for tea towels, oven gloves, table runners and decorations. No wonder our sample sewing team is so enthusiastic about the new quality!
Anke from Cherry Picking used our new Yannik and Paul knit in a beautiful classic blue to sew her Fake it Trio set and a Knitti jumper – you can see how finely and accurately you can work with Paul cotton linen! A fake blouse set made from cotton-linen Paul is the ideal complement to a knit jumper made from knit Yannik. It creates the look of a worn blouse – with a collar, button placket and hem, but without adding extra volume under the knit.
The breathable cotton-linen fabric is comfortable against the skin, prevents heat build-up and remains comfortable even with warmer knitwear. At the same time, the silhouette remains loose and clean, nothing bulges or slips. Perfect for a neat layered look with maximum comfort.

All patterns of the in-house exhibition design examples are linked in the image database.
Paul *082820* Cotton-linen blend fabric made from 55% linen, 45% cotton, 137 cm, approx. 155 g/m². Available at the Swafing in-house exhibition from 6 February, while stocks last.

Mira – cotton-linen with Mediterranean ornamental pattern
Mira (item 082925) is a fine cotton-linen blend fabric made from 69% cotton and 31% linen. The fabric appears light and high-quality at the same time. The surface feels like smooth poplin, but with a linen content.
The Mira pattern features a decorative, Mediterranean-inspired ornamental design with repeating arches, fine lines and small graphic details. The arrangement is rhythmic and harmonious, yet clearly structured and not playful. In classic blue and white, the fabric exudes freshness, calm and timeless elegance, with a look reminiscent of ceramics, mosaics or southern architecture.
Particularly appealing: Mira can be used in both directions. When rotated, the pattern takes on a whole new effect and is ideal for modern, graphic-looking cuts. This means that Mira can be interpreted both traditionally and very contemporarily.

Ideal for blouses, shirts, dresses, skirts or light summer trousers, but also for clean cuts with architectural appeal. A fabric for anyone who appreciates Mediterranean flair, structure and understatement.
Mira *082925* Cotton-linen blend fabric made of 69% cotton, 31% linen, 150 cm, approx. 150 g/m², certified according to STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®. Available at the Swafing in-house exhibition from 6 February, while stocks last.
Ira – lightweight cotton-linen with expressive prints
Ira (item 082827) is a fine cotton-linen blend fabric made from 69% cotton and 31% linen. With a weight of around 115 g/m², Ira is one of our particularly lightweight fabrics and is ideal for airy, comfortable garments. The fabric is certified according to STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® and impresses with its fresh, natural feel and subtle linen texture.

The series comprises four different designs: a floral pattern with leaves and twigs in dark blue and beige creates a calm and elegant effect. A second variant features large, picturesque leaves in orange, terracotta and green on a light background, radiating summery vibrancy. The selection is complemented by a graphic chevron pattern in black and cream and an abstract-looking design with dynamic, partly interrupted lines, which gives the fabric a modern, expressive touch.
All patterns of the in-house exhibition design examples are linked in the image database.
The lightweight quality makes the fabric drape beautifully and is very comfortable to wear – almost like a viscose woven fabric, but with the characteristic linen look. The fabric emphasises feminine cuts and provides movement without adding bulk. The dress does not ride up, ties or belts hold well, and it is very comfortable and airy to wear. No wonder Pauline is wearing a dress made from Ira in our highlights show on wednesday!
Ira is ideal for dresses, blouses, tunics or airy skirts. Lightweight, comfortable to wear and high quality – a fabric that sensibly expands the range and gets you in the mood for summer.
Ira *082827* cotton-linen blend fabric made from 69% cotton, 31% linen, 155 cm, approx. 115 g/m², certified according to STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®. Available at the Swafing in-house exhibition from 6 February, while stocks last.
Fantastic embroidery
Jasmin embroidery in denim look
Jasmin is a beautiful embroidered cotton fabric in a denim look with fine cotton viscose embroidery. The colourful flowers are embroidered in rich detail and give the fabric a special 3D look, which is particularly noticeable from the side. The embroidery is high quality, pleasantly soft and supple, and looks particularly good on the denim-look woven fabric.
The vibrant colours make Jasmin very versatile – all the shades of the embroidery are ideal for combining! Perfect for little blouses, tops, dresses, skirts or jumpsuits, but also wonderful for playful children’s clothing. Combined with colour-coordinated leggings or simple basics, you can create fresh, spring-like looks with a special character.

Luna is a beautiful openwork embroidery on pure cotton woven fabric. With its light weight of approx. 120 g/m², the fabric feels pleasantly airy and is perfect for summer sewing projects. The fine embroidery features small, delicate flowers evenly distributed across a narrow striped background. This gives the design a calm and timeless look, while the eyelet embroidery adds beautiful depth and texture. A special highlight is the double-sided scalloped edge – perfect for adding decorative accents to hems, sleeves or cuffs.
Luna is available in two classic colour combinations: navy white and red white. Both versions have a fresh, summery look and can be combined wonderfully – whether maritime, playful or completely classic. Thanks to its airy quality, Luna is ideal for blouses, tunics, dresses, skirts or light summer tops. The fabric is also a beautiful choice for children’s clothing. An uncomplicated favourite fabric for warm days.
Luna *082888* Embroidery on 100% cotton woven fabric, 130 cm, approx. 120 g/m², certified according to STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®. Available at the Swafing in-house exhibition from 6 February, while stocks last. Delivery: March
Jonte: Expressive eyelet embroidery on batik cotton
Jonte is a special fabric with beautiful embroidery. The pure cotton woven fabric has a striking denim batik look that adds depth to the design and creates a unique, modern look. The focus is on the expressive eyelet embroidery with a visible 3D effect. The individual eyelet motifs are connected by fine embroidery in a zigzag pattern, creating a lively, textured surface. A beautiful detail is the raised embroidery, which gives the fabric a high-quality look. The design is rounded off by the decorative scalloped edge – ideal for sleeve cuffs, hems or special accents on dresses.
The batik look in denim blue emphasises the casual character of Jonte and makes the fabric very versatile. Whether dresses, tunics, skirts or eye-catching statement sleeves – you can play around wonderfully with the cut and embroidery here.
Jonte is for anyone who loves something special: individual, expressive and perfect for creative spring and summer designs.
Double Slub, muslin & woven cotton
Fleur: Double slub muslin with floral designs
Fleur is a beautiful double slub muslin made from 100% cotton – a special muslin quality that differs significantly from classic muslin. At approx. 165 g/m², the fabric is slightly heavier and more densely woven, which means it remains beautifully smooth, does not crease and retains its straight drape even after washing. The maximum residual shrinkage is 5%. Double slub muslin is characterised by its fine slub structure with a linen look, which gives the designs a beautiful depth. Despite its light background, Fleur is opaque and pleasantly dimensionally stable. At the same time, the fabric is airy and light to wear, making it a great alternative to conventional muslin.
The Fleur design features delicate watercolour-style flowers in two colour schemes: one in warm apricot tones and one in fresh blue and petrol shades. The motifs are particularly beautiful on the textured surface and have a calm, harmonious and versatile effect. Thanks to its good drape, Fleur is suitable for much more than classic muslin projects. Whether scarves, blouses, tops, dresses, skirts, airy jumpsuits or trousers – even bloomers, wide flutter trousers or light jackets turn out beautifully in this fabric. Fleur is also wonderful for children’s clothing. Thanks to its firm feel, the fabric works very well in combination with cuffs without fraying or bunching up unattractively.
Fleur is a true all-season fabric: smooth, opaque, dimensionally stable and yet pleasantly light – ideal for anyone who loves muslin but is looking for more stability and structure.

All patterns of the in-house exhibition design examples are linked in the image database.
Fleur *082899* Double Slub Muslin made from 100% cotton, 144 cm, approx. 165 g/m², certified according to STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®. Maximum residual shrinkage value 5%. Available at the Swafing in-house exhibition from 6 February, while stocks last. Delivery: mid-February.

Adele: Double slub muslin with expressive prints
Adele is a double slub muslin made of pure cotton with a beautiful, slightly linen-like texture. The fabric is slightly denser and heavier than classic muslin, but remains pleasantly soft and airy. It drapes smoothly and evenly, does not crease and retains its smooth, dimensionally stable surface even after washing. The characteristic slub texture gives the designs extra depth and really shows off the prints to their best advantage. Adele is opaque, making it ideal for a wide range of garments such as dresses, blouses, skirts, trousers, jumpsuits, light jackets, scarves and accessories – for both children and adults.
Dandelion design
The delicate scatter motif with small dandelions has a light and calm effect. The delicate motifs are evenly distributed across the fabric and perfectly complement the natural look of the muslin. The design is available in three harmonious colour variations: on warm red, on a darker sage green and on a deep midnight blue. Each variation has its own character – from friendly and fresh to calm and elegant.

Leo design
The Leo design is powerful, modern and eye-catching. The black leopard print stands out strikingly against the rainbow-like colour gradient and gives the fabric a special aura. The matt surface and natural structure of the double slub muslin give the design a balanced and pleasantly calm look, so that the fabric not only makes a real statement, but is also versatile and comfortable to wear.
The Leo design is also available as French Terry Cindy, allowing for exciting combinations across different qualities.
Adele *082922* Double slub muslin made from 100% cotton, 144 cm, approx. 165 g/m², certified according to STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®. Maximum residual shrinkage value 5%. Available at the Swafing in-house exhibition from 6 February, while stocks last. Delivery: mid-February.
New at Swafing: HIP SOM HAP
We are delighted to introduce a new designer at our virtual in-house exhibition: Sonja Verhoek with her label HIP SOM HAP.
About the designer
Sonja Verhoek is the creative force behind HIP SOM HAP. Her designs are created from a combination of playful hand painting and modern, clear design. Each pattern begins deliberately in analogue form: on paper, with real colours, visible brushstrokes and small irregularities that give her work its special, lively character. When digitising her designs, Sonja attaches great importance to preserving this handmade quality. Nothing should appear smooth or sterile – rather, structure, movement and personality should remain tangible.
Her colour worlds are vibrant without being loud, and her designs appear uncomplicated and timeless, yet always bear her own unique signature. Patterns from HIP SOM HAP are versatile and unfold their effect both solo and in combination – modern, creative and designed with great sensitivity.
She is now celebrating her debut at Swafing with three items – we are delighted to present Double Slub Muslin Leo Print and the jerseys Chicken and Cactus Cuties at our in-house exhibition!
Leo Print by HIP SOM HAP
Leo Print by HIP SOM HAP interprets the classic animal look in a modern, light-hearted way. The leopard spots are designed in a soft watercolour look and appear painted rather than graphically defined. This creates a lively yet calm pattern with plenty of depth. Depending on the variant, the leopard motifs are combined with coloured stripes or flat, watercolour-like colour gradients. The series is complemented by matching striped designs – some with leopard elements, some without any animal print at all.
The colour palette is summery and harmoniously coordinated: colourful but not loud. Stronger colours alternate with lighter, softer tones, giving the designs a lively look while still allowing them to be easily combined. All variants intertwine, enabling exciting mix-and-match looks – from expressive to calm.

Leopard print comes in the popular double slub muslin quality, a beautiful alternative to classic muslin. Unlike conventional muslin, this quality remains beautifully smooth, does not crease and has a calm, straight drape. The fabric is slightly denser and heavier, but is comfortable to wear, light and airy. A characteristic feature is the fine slub structure with a linen look, which gives the designs additional depth and brings out the colours particularly well. The fabric hardly shrinks, remains smooth even after washing and is dimensionally stable. In addition, the fabric is opaque – even in light colours.

These properties make Leo Print by HIP SOM HAP ideal for dresses, skirts, trousers, blouses, tops of all kinds, airy jumpsuits, light jackets, scarves and accessories. A versatile, year-round fabric that is easy to sew and ideal for both eye-catching statement pieces and subtle combinations. As you can see, Leo Print is equally suitable for children and adults and simply puts you in a good mood!

All patterns of the in-house exhibition design examples are linked in the image database.
Leo Print by HIP SOM HAP *082826* Double slub muslin made from 100% cotton, 144 cm, approx. 165 g/m², certified according to STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®. Maximum residual shrinkage value 5%. Available at the Swafing in-house exhibition from 6 February, while stocks last.

Hedwig: Cute owls for creative sewing ideas
Hedwig brings back a motif that never fails to delight: small, lovingly designed owls. The illustrations are scattered loosely across the fabric and appear playful, friendly and pleasantly balanced. Delicate floral elements in the background soften the pattern and create a calm, harmonious overall effect. This keeps the design lively without being restless – perfect for many different sewing projects.
The colour scheme is soft and modern. Hedwig is available in beige, lilac and sage – three light, friendly colour combinations that give the owls plenty of space and can be combined wonderfully. The colours appear light and fresh and go well with both classic and contemporary designs.
The motif is printed on a 100% cotton woven fabric. At approx. 130 g/m², the fabric is pleasantly light, smooth and dimensionally stable, yet robust enough for everyday use. It is very easy to work with, drapes beautifully and, thanks to its OEKO-TEX® certification, is also ideal for sewing projects for children. Hedwig is extremely versatile: it can be used for cute dresses, skirts or blouses as well as for bags, utensil holders, reading pillows or school cones. The design also looks great as a lining or for small gift ideas. A lovely fabric for many creative projects.

Denim stretch
Denim-Stretch Dallas
Dallas is a modern stretch denim with a particularly beautiful, calm surface. Fine stripes and a subtle mélange effect are created by differently coloured yarns in the warp and weft, giving the fabric depth and a lively, textile effect. Depending on the colour, there is a gentle interplay of light and dark tones, sometimes with barely visible tone-on-tone stripes. This gives Dallas a modern and high-quality look – a denim with character that remains timeless and exciting at the same time.
The colour palette is versatile and easy to combine: from white to camel, olive and taupe to classic denim and blue tones, midnight blue and black. Denim always works – and thanks to its calm, mottled look, Dallas can be easily combined with almost any material. Here with knitwear Yannik:

All patterns of the in-house exhibition design examples are linked in the image database.
Thanks to its elastane content, Dallas is comfortable to wear and moves with you. The fabric fits well, retains its shape and is therefore perfect for trousers that have to withstand a lot of wear and tear in everyday life – from the playground to a long day out and about. At the same time, Dallas stretch denim is also suitable for skirts, jackets, dungarees or timeless basics for adults.
A versatile stretch denim with a modern structure, high wearing comfort and a look that fits effortlessly into many collections – for clothing that is comfortable and still looks good.

NEW QUALITY: OXFORD FABRIC
Happy Collection by Cherry Picking
The Happy Collection combines durable quality with expressive designs from Cherry Picking – featuring a trendy dachshund motif and a modern floral design in bold colours. Quality that impresses at first glance and delivers what it promises in practice.
The water-repellent Oxford fabric scores with a pleasantly soft feel, high durability and a surface that remains beautiful even with intensive use. With a Martindale value of over 60,000, the quality is ideally suited for heavy-duty projects – from bags to outdoor applications.
In terms of design, the collection comprises two distinct design worlds. Both variants are available in several colourways – including natural, lilac, dark blue and grey, as well as mustard, green-blue and grey – and can be combined perfectly with each other or with plain and imitation leather qualities. The Happy Collection also looks particularly harmonious when mixed with Rex and Rex-metallic imitation leather.

The collection is deliberately designed to be versatile: ideal for rucksacks, weekend bags, bags and accessories, but also for rain jackets, coats, ponchos and cycling clothing. Despite its robustness, the fabric is comfortable and flexible to wear – not stiff, but surprisingly soft, even in larger cuts. For colder days, it can be easily combined with fleece or other linings.

The dachshund design brings a charming, graphically reduced illustration to the fabric. The evenly arranged motifs appear calm and structured without losing any of their character. The clear drawing and harmonious colour combinations make the design timeless and versatile – ideal for bags, accessories or functional projects where a playful accent is desired. The dachshunds are particularly beautiful on the robust quality fabric and make every project a real eye-catcher with recognition value.

The floral design features a modern, illustrative variety of flowers with clear contours and harmoniously coordinated colours. Large and small floral elements intertwine to create a lively yet balanced overall picture. The colours are fresh and expressive without being obtrusive, giving the design a contemporary, slightly graphic touch. This makes the pattern suitable for bags and accessories as well as larger surfaces such as seating furniture or tablecloths, where it can unfold its full effect.

Whether on bags, bench cushions, outdoor tablecloths or functional clothing, the quality is impressive thanks to its dimensional stability, durability and lasting appeal.

Echo of Summer made.by.colu
Flowing colour worlds on viscose jersey: Echo of Summer is an expressive design on soft viscose jersey that combines lightness, movement and summer vibes. Digital colour gradients, gentle transitions and flowing surfaces characterise the collection and give the fabrics depth and a calm, modern look. The patterns appear clear and minimalistic, yet remain lively and atmospheric – ideal for modern summer fashion with clean cuts.
The design is available in three different colourways, each with its own character:
One variant in shades of purple has a calm and elegant effect. The second colour scheme combines bold red and pink with soft transitions, creating an expressive, lively effect. The third colour scheme plays with petrol, natural, pink and fresh green and yellow tones, bringing a special freshness and lightness to the design. All colour schemes are harmoniously coordinated and can be used both as a statement and in combination with calm basics.

Echo of Summer is a flowing viscose jersey with elastane. The fabric has a beautiful, soft drape, fits comfortably to the body and is not bulky. The surface has a beautiful, slightly grainy feel, which gives the jersey additional character. The elastane content makes the fabric elastic and comfortable – perfect for flowing styles.

The designs feature delicate flowers, twigs and floral elements on a light background. Sometimes playful and small, sometimes more generous and expressive, they create different moods – from calm and natural to fresh and lively. Both themes are implemented in harmonious colour worlds, giving them a friendly, modern and pleasantly calm feel.
The maritime design features small boats with lovingly illustrated animal figures and is complemented by fine stripes in the background. The unicorn motif is available in two colour combinations and is complemented by a matching combination fabric. The gentle colour gradients in the background give the design depth and a particularly soft look. At the same time, these areas are so calm in design that they are not only suitable as a complement to the main motif, but can also be used on their own – for example, for hoods, inserts or as inner linings, for example in walkoveralls or jackets.

The leopard print on warm apricot in particular takes a true classic and reinterprets it: softly drawn, harmonious in colour and therefore versatile to combine – perfect for anyone who loves animal prints but doesn’t like them too harsh.

French Terry
New at Swafing: Meluma
We are delighted to introduce Melanie Lutz-Maurer and her label Meluma at our in-house exhibition. She is the winner of the kreativSELBST fabric design challenge! We would like to congratulate her once again and are delighted to be launching the winning design, Joy Collection, which stood out from hundreds of other fantastic designs in the challenge.
About the designer
Melanie is a professional illustrator and surface pattern designer and lives with her family in Switzerland on Lake Constance. She founded her label in 2023 – a labour of love in which she brings together her many years of creative experience. Drawing, crafting and painting were part of her everyday life from an early age, and later sewing and hand lettering were added to the mix. She also consistently pursued a creative path in her professional life: after completing a design apprenticeship and attending the Higher Technical College for Fine Arts, she gained extensive experience working with design programmes and digital techniques.
Melanie finds her inspiration in the world of letters, in everyday family life and in nature with its flora and fauna. Her colour palette ranges from delicate cotton candy pink to deep midnight blue. The result is colourful, varied designs with a lot of feeling that bring joy and appeal to a wide audience.
Joy Collection by Meluma – fabrics that bring joy
The Joy Collection thrives on expressive, organic shapes that flow softly into one another and create an almost dance-like movement in the design. The patterns appear lively without being restless: curved lines that fan out like fine strands or leaves form a harmonious overall picture with great depth and dynamism.
In terms of colour, the collection plays with bright, cheerful tones that nevertheless remain balanced. Warm shades such as apricot and coral meet cool accents in turquoise, petrol and blue, complemented by soft pastel and natural tones. Depending on the colour variation, the designs appear either fresh and bright or somewhat calmer and more elegant – but always positive and modern.
This special combination of flowing shapes and carefully coordinated colours makes the fabrics extremely versatile: they can be used as eye-catching features for entire garments or for smaller accents. The patterns are striking, yet remain comfortable to wear and suitable for everyday use.
Printed on a particularly soft modal French terry, the Joy Collection combines exceptional comfort with a design that puts you in a good mood and adds an optimistic, creative touch to any look.

Modal French terry is ideal for comfortable clothing with a particularly soft, high-quality feel. Thanks to its high modal content, the fabric feels smooth, supple e and slightly cool on the skin, while also being breathable and pleasantly temperature-regulating. The French terry backing makes it comfortable without appearing too thick – perfect for all year round, but especially for the transitional seasons.
The fabric is ideal for sweaters, hoodies, dresses, comfortable trousers or loungewear and is also very popular for children’s clothing thanks to its softness and elasticity. Compared to classic cotton French terry, modal French terry is more fluid and looks slightly more elegant, remains dimensionally stable, crease-resistant and pleasantly soft even after many washes.
Joy Collection by Meluma *082865* French terry made from 60% cotton, 35% modal, 5% elastane, 150 cm, approx. 0 g/m², certified according to STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®. Available at the Swafing in-house exhibition from 6 February, while stocks last.
Flowers, colour, joie de vivre – Fields of Joy
Fields of Joy by Claire’s Creative Forest is a fabric collection that captures the carefree lightness of blooming summer meadows. Playful floral motifs are harmoniously scattered across the fabric and accompanied by calm natural tones and vibrant accents. Sunny yellow, warm coral red and fresh green tones add cheerful highlights, while deep blue and soft natural colours lend depth and balance to the designs.
The illustrations appear modern and lively, yet carry a subtle hint of nostalgia – like memories of warm days outdoors, flowers by the wayside and relaxed summer days. The balanced arrangement of the motifs keeps the patterns pleasantly calm and allows them to unfold their effect both in detail and on larger surfaces.

French Terry Fields of Joy is available in two colourways: on a light natural background for a fresh, light look and on dark blue, which makes the colours shine particularly beautifully. The fabric is ideal for comfortable, expressive sewing projects such as sweaters, hoodies, dresses, tunics or cosy sets – for both children and adults. – Vororder zur Auslieferung im Mai –
Hand-drawn motifs meet versatile sewing options and offer fun for completely individual sewing projects. Included: Grumpy Rooster Joker and Chicken Godzilla, Dachshund Berny with wow effect and the highly motivated cow Mimi Moo. Oh yes: And Balloon Dog with its cool all-over print and „SHIT HAPPENS“ statement is perfect for sewing into a cool eye-catcher for young and old in bright colours. For him and her, young and old – for sweaters, hoodies, jackets, sweatpants and more! Mega panels and matching all-over fabrics that are just as cool when sewn solo!
The French Terrys at a glance:

Chickeria
Chickeria focuses on cheeky roosters with plenty of personality. The panels feature two different motifs with the inscriptions „NOPE“ and „WHAT’S UP?“, each placed on a striking, graphic-looking background.
The panels are complemented by a continuous all-over fabric that picks up exactly the same pattern as the panel background. This allows the designs to be combined in a particularly harmonious way – or deliberately used without a motif. The all-over effect is calm, modern and distinctive, making it ideal for sleeves, backs or completely minimalist styles.

Dachshund Berny
Dachshund Berny is designed as a panel motif that allows you to play with the design in a wonderful way: on the front, the dachshund peeks around the corner, while on the second half of the panel, the motif continues and you can see the back of the dachshund. „WOW“ – such a funny and cool design!
The item is available in two colour variations: mint and a beautiful, darker emerald. Both panels come with a matching all-over stripe. The stripes run horizontally, are deliberately irregular and pick up on the respective colour scheme of the panel. They are ideal for sleeves, backs, hoods or as a calm counterpart to the panel motif. The panel and all-over print are coordinated, can be combined flexibly and also work independently. Dachshund Berny is particularly suitable for hoodies, sweaters, jackets or two-piece outfits.

Let´s Moove
The panel features two different cow motifs with the tongue-in-cheek lettering „GIMME MORE MOO-TIVATION“. The two motifs can be used flexibly: either to create two individual jumpers, each with a cow motif on the front and a matching back from the all-over print, or to combine both motifs as the front and back of one model, creating a real eye-catcher.
The matching all-over fabric picks up on the colours and structure of the panel and has a deliberately calmer design. It is ideal for backs, sleeves, hoods or even for simple designs without a panel. The panel and all-over fabric are perfectly coordinated and offer many possibilities for casual, comfortable clothing for children, teenagers and adults – unisex wear.

Shit Happens
The Shit Happens series stands for expressive statements and thoughtful designs with clean lines. In dark turquoise and bright pink, this French terry brings strong motifs to a calm, easy-to-combine base. Each colour variant contains a panel with two motifs: a large motif with the lettering „Shit happens“ and a smaller motif for additional accents. This allows you to sew either two separate tops or a single model with front and back motifs – just as you wish.
There are two matching all-over designs: the panel is complemented by two all-over designs: one with small balloon dogs and one with the collection’s characteristic “ “ background pattern. Both designs are ideal as combination fabrics, but also look great on their own.
The fabric is perfect for hoodies, sweaters, jogging pants or casual dresses and is equally suitable for children, teens and adults.

French terry panels & all-over – well thought-out down to the last detail
Thorsten Berger’s Cheeky Animals collection thrives on expressive panel motifs and perfectly coordinated allover designs. The panels, which are approximately 80 cm high, create clear accents and are ideal for the front of hoodies, sweatshirts or long shirts. They are complemented by allover fabrics that not only work well in combination but also stand alone: graphic, calm, modern and with exactly the special twist for which Thorsten Berger is known. Nothing seems random – every motif, every colour, every texture is deliberately placed and tells its own little story with a wink.
The high-quality French terry made of cotton and elastane is pleasantly soft, elastic and dimensionally stable. With its slightly higher weight, it is ideal for hoodies, sweatshirts, jogging pants, dresses, skirts and comfortable everyday fashion. The designs are deliberately unisex and appeal to children as well as teenagers and adults. Whether casual, cheeky or simply comfortable – these fabrics move with you and remain beautiful even after frequent wear and washing.

Knit fabric
Yannik – uncomplicated knitwear for every season
Yannik is a versatile knitted fabric that is perfect for when the seasons overlap. That’s why it’s part of our new autumn/winter collection, available for pre-order and immediately available in three selected colour variations – perfect for those who prefer to start sewing right away. Yannik really comes into its own in the months from February to April, when the sun is already awakening spring fever but the temperatures are still changeable. The lightweight knit is easy to slip on and makes it possible to wear airy spring and summer fabrics right now. A dress, blouse or shirt can be given just the extra warmth you need on cooler days in no time at all – without looking heavy.
Visually, Yannik impresses with a calm, slightly mottled surface and an even knit structure. The look is clear and high-quality, yet pleasantly understated. The interplay of coloured yarn and natural undertones creates a subtle mélange effect that adds depth and makes it particularly easy to combine.

All patterns of the in-house exhibition design examples are linked in the image database.
The colour palette is deliberately timeless: warm rust brown, cool smoky blue and a petrol tone (each with natural) blend harmoniously into many wardrobes. Yannik is relaxed, modern and versatile – ideal for clean cuts and casual silhouettes. Whether as a cardigan, jumper or casual oversized hoodie, Yannik is perfect for layering pieces that allow you to wear your favourite items across seasons. An uncomplicated knit fabric for anyone who wants to sew flexibly and doesn’t want to miss out on their light spring fabrics even on cooler days.
